Project 1 - A  steep,
inaccessible, and
hard-to-maintain slope
is tamed with gracious
steps and terraces.
These create new
living space, with views
of the city and Mt.
Rainier from the
gazebo. Drought hardy
plantings also
contribute to an easy
lifestyle.
Project 2 -
A new retaining wall
and low
maintenance
plantings turn an
unused space into a
cool summer retreat.
A small paver patio
reflects the style of
the house and its
sinuous lines. But
the planting is
strictly modern with
its emphasis on
color, texture, and
year-round beauty
as well as its
drought tolerance
.
Project 3 -
This historic house, beautifully restored, needed a garden to
match. New retaining walls added space and stability while new
steps brought  safe, graceful access to the house. The
plantings bring a contemporary yet compatible look with year
round color and low maintenance.
Project 4 -
The slope by this
parking lot needed
help! New retaining
walls dressed with
easy-care plantings
were the smart and
elegant solution for
this problem corner.

Project 5 -
A difficult,
sloping lawn is
replaced by a
handsome wall
and inviting
steps. New
plantings add
plenty of beauty
and almost no
upkeep.
Project 6 -
A little-used driveway
becomes a comfortable
outdoor entertainment
space.
Project 7 -
Overgrown shrubs obscured the view of the
house; empty spaces created an unnatural
look. New rock work and plantings solved both
problems.
